DAY 47

Pucon, Chile
Well....we have found cute! We are in Pucon, about 10 hours South and slightly West of Santiago and I must say it is one of the most adorable towns I have ever seen. You can't figure out if it feels like Aspen or Switzerland or maybe just the Chilean mountains!
Its a popular ski village in the winter, but now in summertime it is the "Adventure Capital" for white water rafting, horsebackridding, mountain climbing....and hot springs. (You may have guessed, Carrie found this place). The small village is filled with vintage log cabin style buildings advertising vegetarian restaurants, adventure tours, yoga, hiking, fly fishing and home cooked bread.

Our hostel is called Ecole and it is adorable. It looks like a little cabin filled with plants and flowers and little bridges which lead you to your room. Ours have wood floors, a living room and a big center chimney which we promptly lit last night because the temps have dropped about 20 degrees from Santiago.
Last night was a bit quiet.....I would say because we were all hung over, but it might have more to do with the fact that getting me on the local flight yesterday took two Xanax and a bottle of wine. Hence, I promptly slept through the flight, the drive to Pucon, and then for about 12 more hours! However, I had no flight anxiety and today I feel amazingly refreshed.
Tomorrow is BRYCE DAY! I can't wait to see him!!!!!! I miss him so much. I cried when I read my Mom's last comment. Mom, if you are reading this to him......I'm coming baby! One more day.
Off to do adventure tours! I should have some good pics tomorrow!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes when I was sick and the happy wishes for my birthday. I can't tell you how amazing it feels to be well again. I went to the depths of hell and back again, I tell you.

Dave and I are feverishly working on updating our blog now and we are almost there. I think we{re nearly up to date on entries and we{ll be totally uip to date by tomorrow, so make sure to start checking there for what Betsy calls the "Siskel and Ebert" version of our adventures: www.cdhoneymoon.blogspot.com.

Love to all,
36 year old Carrie

Hello you party animals. Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday Carrie!!!
I love the pics of Pucon. It sounds like a little slice of heaven and I am sure it will be difficult for you to leave...that being said....seeing Bryce clearly trumps anything else. I'm sure he's had such a wonderful time...and I too shed a tear when I read Jule's last comment.
I am thrilled that you guys continue to have a great trip. 47 days is a long time for living out of a suitcase and it's nice to see it's just fun and frolic.
Things here are good. Dave's office holiday party was Friday and then the specialists in the office had a party for all the dental folks...nice to meet some new faces. Although we haven't found our new best friends here in Cottonwood, we have found some nice people that we socialize with (went bowling with the large animal vet and her hubby that live a couple doors down yesterday).
Another week until Christmas. Chicago was 55 degrees yesterday...pretty sure it will turn frigid by time we land next Monday.
Miss you all! Have a margarita for me!
Love you tons
Paula, Dave and Tonka (Mela and Ranger too since they are living with us for the next week)
