Night 110
Riverbanks, Paruguay (I have no idea the name of the town...or if it even was a town)

I must say......that was the most unsinister smuggling ever!
First...its hard to feel criminal when you are being smuggled over a border on a luxury Catamaran with a bartender.
Second....its hard to feel wild and crazy when your partners in crime include a retired couple from Iowa and The Slovakian Embassador to the United States. (I know....what is it with us and Ambassadors!!!?) That makes two...maybe we can chalk up a few more before coming home!
The couple from Iowa was cute. 45 years ago, when they were married, he had to talk her into marriage because she wanted to "See the world". He promised if she married him, he would take her to every country on the planet. (I think there are 80-something) Now, all these years later he is desperately trying to keep his promise. They have 21 to go.......and Paruguay was on the list.
The Ambassador was there just because he heard the guitar player on the boat was good.
He was. He had Bryce dancing the whole way down the river. Which both the Ambassador and the couple from Iowa thought was adorable.
Anyhow....we got on our boat and I guess you get what you ask for. I said all I wanted was to go to Paraguay. And "go" I did....for thirty minutes.
We pulled up at the riverbank, met some of the local tribespeople, watched a dance.....and left.
However, it was a good time. And I did get some very heart felt pictures of the locals.

We also enjoyed the part of the trip down the river where the boat crossed the lines of Paruguay, Argentina, and Brazil and for 2 minutes we got to be in three countries at the same time. Its just cool to think about.

With no stamps in our passports...we only have the following proof of going to Paruguay:

I'm so happy you had a safe & successful trip. I was anxiously awaiting the update. So, are you still in Paraquay?? What's next? Brazil? Whatever happened with the lots in Uraquay? We are IN! if you think it's a good investment. Rob has the checkbook ready - and he's thinking of ways to "retire" NOW. Wish us luck. I have, yet another "interview lunch" tomorrow. This process has been ridiculously long...you'd think this was a CEO position! I'll keep you posted. xooxo

Glad the trip was successful and somewhat uneventful...sure a run in with the local "fuzz" would have been exciting but not sure the Slovakian Ambassador would have been any help.
I'm with Kristin -what's up with the beach front property in Uraguay? We also would like to be "IN" - just need the basic facts!
Good luck on the interview Kristin - not sure what the job is but sounds like they are putting you thru the ringer!
