Day 107
Bryce´s favorite is the water playground!
Salto, Uruguay
Western Border with Argentina.
We are on our way to Iguazu Falls....but decided to break up the 16 hour bus ride with a halfway stop. The first leg of our journey was six hours across Uruguay.....Scary...but I have to admit I am getting use to these bus rides. They are not that bad. This one even had luxury fold-down chairs bigger than those in first class on a plane!
Salto is your typical border town.....but this one found its claim to fame when they discovered crystal clear thermal water bubbling up undernearth its soil. They built a resort around it and that is where we are taking our three day break.
The resort is considered 5 star....not quite by American standards. the rooms are simple and the food is terrible. However, we have decided it was a good place to stop because the ammenities are great.
And three swimming pools, horseback ridding, spa services, nature walks, and all that good stuff you expect from a full service resort. There is also a kids club where Bryce has basically lived since we arrived. He loves it in there....even if all the other kids only speak Spanish!
Today we mostly hung around in the water. How can you not when the water is naturally over 100 degress F. I dont think Rich and Bryce have ever seen me spend so much time emmersed.....but thats because I am always cold! Not a problem at Thermas! Bryce called today "Herald Family Fun Day!" I would say that was about right. :)

Bet,
I promise that you wouldn't be cold where we are. It's been HOT - in the mid 90's every day with scorching sun. We decided against rock climbing and in favor of snorkeling since that involved immersing ourselves in water. You know how much I love hot tubs, thermal baths, etc., but the thought of that right now makes me cringe. I'm sweating my butt off just sitting here writing an email and it's dark out! What were the temps like on your ideal beach? Anyway, looks like you're still having a great time - travel on!

Hi :-)
I'm so sorry for you guys that you don't have a good time.. This place looks terrible - water playground and thermal baths.. Poor Bryce, has those bad parents who make him play in that blue hot water..
Just kidding! ;-) The place looks great! I think, I could do with one or two such baths as you were taking Betsy :-)
It is so grey outside here in Poland.. I wish it was summer already..
Have a great time all of you! Hugs to Bryce!
