The temperature here in Evanston is 12 degrees and dropping so I enviously devour all your beach-filled, sunny pictures! There's no sign of a warmup in the near future. On the 9th we'll be going to Florida (Mike, Dan & I) to see Grandma Mary for her 94th birthday. I hear we'll be there a day or two with John & Jule so Grandma will have all five of her children there at one time!! Dan will represent all you grandkids!! Until then, and we hope the weather will be good in Florida, I'll just keep looking at your "warm" pictures. Thanks for the sunshine!

(I think I finally got the blog to work--I've been trying for weeks & finally just started a new account!)

Totally insane travel - I can't believe all your adventures - looks like you guys are having a blast. I am at a ski lodge in squaw valley up at about 7000ft and even though I get to ski and run into a few coyote here and there I am sooo jealous of your spontaneous travel and adventures - be safe and hope to see you back in bean town :-)

Boston feels like the coldest place on earth right now. You will have to let me know how Antarctica compares, because it has got to be close. We miss you all very much!

Bryce,
We've been thinking about you a lot here at the beach, so we're very happy to hear that you're having the same kind of fun that we're having! Davey wishes that you were here to play with him in the big waves. We also had nearly no need for shoes for about 12 days. It's great, eh?

Rich,
Thanks for your note on our blog. We miss having you guys around, especially in a place like this where we don't have to move much, so we wouldn't have to spend our time dealing with logistics, and a couple of drinks, playing cards, and book swapping with some friends would be nice. Again, Davey wishes you were here to play in the big waves with him. :)

Bet,
I really wish that we could be spending some of the beach time together. We've made some friends, but they are hard to keep track of around here! Can't wait to hear where you turn up next. Tonight is the 10,000 person full moon rave on the beach at Haad Rin on Ko Phgnan. We moved to Haad Rin yesterday after 12 days in our quiet paradise at Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi... and it's quite the different scene. We've decided, frankly, that we're too old for this @#*!. Most of the people here were in diapers when I started doing the things they are doing now. I can't believe I just said that, but it's sadly true. Nonetheless, it's great people watching and we are going to the party with our heads held high tonight to show these kids how it's done right. :) Hopefully, we'll still be awake when the real party starts, which we hear is around 3am. Check our blog tomorrow to see if we made it.

Love,
Carrie
