Day 132
Morro Sao Paulo, Brazil
Still Here! Today we took the attitude of "If you cant beat them, join them." You see, one of the few difficulties of the trip lately has been the frustration of the slow, lazy lifestyle of the Brazillians. These people just do not move fast.....and we are Americans....its hard to become accustomed to.
But, today....we tried it their way.
Early in the day we sat ourselves down at a beach restaurant.......and we stayed until high tide washed the place away.
Its not so bad!
What else can I say....thats all she wrote.

Hi! I like the new sunglasses and the beach cover up! It was freezing and snow here today. Oh, and did I forget to mention, my little flood snafu did not come and go and leave no mark... yes, the washing machine no longer spins. Needless to say we did something we haven't done in years, the laundry-mart. They have gotten much nicer since we were young, but YIKES, the price! I would be happy to come fetch you on Morea, only I'm doing it the Brazillian way, I'll show up, hang around a few days before we get going! Oh also, Zack proudly took his Cristo statue to school and taught the kids about Brazil, I have no idea what he said but his teacher issued him a merrit certificate for being such a good teacher (and putting HE REALLY IS as a note to me) So funny how he was most unhappy at the Cristo yet he loves that statue! He placed it right above the head of his bead, there is something rather comforting in watching him sleep under the arms of Christ. I REALLY wish I was there! I am already plotting and planning ways to get away again! XOX Heather Miss you so much. It's like November all over again.

Wow, the beaches there look so beautiful. I think that there's nothing wrong with taking it slow like the Brazilians for a while. Looks pretty nice to me. Back here in Portland we had a gorgeous day. High 60's and sunny. It's not 95 and humid like Thailand, but that's ok with me. My Thailand "tan" is definitely fading. Dave started back to work today, so it really feels like the vacation is finally over. Sigh. Unfortunately, we still haven't blogged the last couple towns of our trip - Chiang Mai and Bangkok. I don't really think anyone is reading it anymore anyway, but we would like to finish it off for the record.

Do you know yet when you head back to the U.S.?

I can understand why you can't seem to leave. It seems like a wonderful place. I LOVE YOUR WRAP!!! Is that new? How's the shopping been?
Same ole' here. I'm starting to cut back to 30 hours a week at work and very limited travel. Happy about it but nervous - my whole life has been about my career and making a conscious choice to change is definitely a bit odd.
Wish we were there. Miss you!
